What is Breaking Bands?

Breaking Bands is a monthly local and regional band showcase. At each Breaking Bands showcase, MadLife will present 3-4 new and rising bands who are making their mark on the music community.

This event is an evening dedicated to local and regional musicians, aspiring and professionals alike, giving them the opportunity to take our stage and present their performance and songwriting talents to an audience comprised of people who truly appreciate great bands, original music and live performances.

Breaking Bands, is an event for musicians presenting all musical genres. There are no age limitations, but all those taking MadLife’s stage should be skilled musicians. We encourage featured bands to perform original music, although that is not an absolute requirement.

Come out to MadLife to experience inspiring regional bands rising to take their place in the music industry. Support live and local music!

Gas Club

AJ Hirsch is an instrumental progressive rock guitarist and solo artist from the Atlanta area, whose musical journey began at the age of 8 after being inspired by his father and older brother’s love of music.

Growing up listening to groups like The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin, AJ quickly became fascinated with the guitar. As his playing developed, his influences expanded to include Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, and Nick Johnston, blending progressive rock,vclassical, blues, and classic rock into his own instrumental style.

AJ spent years performing in rock bands before graduating from the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media in 2014. Since then, he has continued developing his career as a solo artist, writing, recording, and performing original instrumental guitar music.

His debut album, Point Of No Return, showcases AJ’s evolution as a guitarist and songwriter, while his latest release, Ready / Fire / Aim, pushes his progressive approach even further with a six-minute-plus instrumental journey built around constantly evolving sections rather than traditional repeating song structures.

AJ’s live show features a hand-picked band of highly skilled musicians who bring his instrumental compositions to life with energy and precision. The result is an exciting live experience built for both guitar enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys powerful, dynamic live music.

Gas Club is an Atlanta-area rock band blending classic rock roots with alternative influences and a sound of their own. Bringing raw energy and a love for live music to every set, Gas Club puts its own spin on familiar favorites while building an identity beyond them.
